Nite out on a date with my Daughter
My wife dressed up my daughter like a beautiful young lady going out on a first date with her boyfriend on a romantic friday evening. But this was a family nite out along with my wife and my son. Four of us were at Bugis Terra Cafe for dinner. My daughter sat opposite me, and she was ready to order her menu of appetizers, main course and dessert! Luckily, there was set meal that nite, so it didn't took too long for her to point to one of the set meal items. But she couldn't eat them at her age. Haaa...My daughter, one day you will become Singapore Idol.
Beautiful Sunset
It was going home time, and the streets were packed with vehicles on a Friday evening. While waiting for the traffic to clear, took a shot of the setting sun, in full glory with an orange glow. I could look into the sun directly not hurting my eyes. It was then a very special moment I felt my spirit soared once again to the sky, away from bodily tiredness and weariness.

Tickle Test Score
You're an Angel!
Kenneth, you're an Angel!
Just like the haloed and winged guardians of good, you truly have a heart of gold, sweet Angel. Whenever there's a chance to pitch in, save the day or just make life easier for the people around you, you're the one for the job.
You don't just jump in without planning — you use your angelic head to figure out how to do things right the first time, like only the most dependable goddesses can. Whether brainstorming a new solution to a problem, planning a surprise party for your parents, or lending your friends a wing to cry on, you've got the right instincts, so follow them whenever you can. As natural as it is for you to take care of the people around you, don't forget to treat yourself right, too. The best friendships, and loves, of a lifetime tend to blossom when you become your own guardian angel.
So don't listen to those who say nice guys finish last. People have always seen you as a god of thoughtfulness and good intentions, and it hasn't slowed you down a bit. All in all, Angel, you've got it made with your glowing attitude and ability to see from on high. So get out there and change the world!
What's Your Goddess Identity?

Teacher Convocation Ceremony, 13 July 2006
It was a grand occasion with almost 1,200 teachers from the primary, secondary and JC cohorts taking the Teacher's Pledge to LOVE, CARE, and NURTURE our children who belong to us. Very touched by the grandeur of the place, NIE placed highest priority for our first day as full-fledge certified teachers of the Republic of Singapore.
Many tears shed, hugs exchanged and photographs taken, as we parted - separate ways, from the cradle of teacher education at NIE into the hearts of our school children.

My wife, our mummy, where are thou?
My wife started learning to drive a couple of months ago. She wanted to help out with the fetching of kids so that I would not need to drop both kids off in the morning before going to school. And twice nightly, I have to pick up my children from their care-takers and go fetch my wife at the driving school. And on those nights, we usually waited and waited...and waited for my wife to be released from her lessons. It was really some difficult nights to get by especially with two little children in tow.
See their faces? They were bored and exhausted waiting for their dearest mummy to quickly come out of the school! Imagine how I looked? Haa...equally horrible.
At the Singapore Botanical Gardens
Its was a beautiful Sunday afternoon when I took my family down to the Singapore Botanical Gardens. I was so captivated by the lily pond that I took this picture above. I was also looking for pond life beneath those broad round lily leaves (they float!). It was simply amazing how many species of creatures you could find there, right under those big round leaves!
Samuel and I fed a whole loaf of Gardenia bread (we bought at a petrol station before reaching SBG) to the carps, arrowanas, koi, snakeheads, and the countless turtles and terrapins (owners released them). They were so hungry oh boy, I recommend that when you are planning to go to the SBG, please buy some more bread for them, they are really starving, poor animals.....
Every dark cloud has a silver lining..
Took this picture while I was at the Marina South with my family. We went there again for a second time to fly Samuel's favourite kite. Its a diamond shaped kite with a pair of long tails which I bought for him for $2.00 from a nearby shop. (Did you see his kite in the picture???!) Its there!
As I was staring into the sky to look at my son's kite (Samuel is so happy to hold on to his flying kite!), I saw this dark cloud hovering above us. Quickly I took a shot of it with my camera phone. Lo and behold, the beautiful silver lining around the dark looming cloud was captured so intensely.
Back home while looking at the picture, I was reminded of many dark moments in my life filled with sad memories. But the silver lining also reminded me of hope and faith that God will come through and help me. And many times, I was helped in the most miraculous ways.
May your darkest hours be the dawn of a new and beautiful morning..

The story of a mousetrap..
My brother send this story to me in an email...very meaningful.
A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.
"What food might this contain?" the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: "There's a mousetrap in the house! There's a mousetrap in the house!"
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me.
I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There's a mousetrap in the house! There's a mousetrap in the house!"
The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."
The mouse then turned to the cow and said "There's a mousetrap in the house! There's a mousetrap in the house!"
The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."
So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.
The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.
The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever.
Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.
But his wife's sickness continued so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife did not get well, she died.
So many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.
The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.
So the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.
Send this to everyone who has ever helped you out and let them know how important they are.
Remember: Each of us is a vital thread in another person's tapestry; Our lives are woven together for a reason.
One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a friend.

Good Morning!?
What a beautiful sunday morning, with the sun shining down on my family. We went out for breakfast at Mac Donalds - Samuel's favourite food (pancake for breakfast). Samuel was still sleepy as he stayed awake until quite last into the night. Wondered what he was doing the whole night when the lights were off... In the morning he had his collection of Cars toys (free gifts with every Happy Meal - while stocks last) next to him on the bed.
